We like to eat soups when it is cold outside. Borsch (beet soup), shchi (cabbage soup) or uha (fish soup) – it is very tasty. You shall definitely try okroshka if you are in Russia in summer, cold kvass soup with many ingredients, Russian national dish - you will not find it anywhere else!
Typical Russian souvenirs like amber, lacquered boxes of Palekh or cobalt Gzhel ceramics, as well as furs, matreshka dolls, vodka, honey and caviar you canl find in an old store on Nevsky Prospekt - Gostiny Dvor. There you can find absolutely everything!

During the White Nights there are a lot of loud events in St. Petersburg. August is the quietest month of summer. In early August international musicians come to the Festival "Petersburg Carillon" to demonstrate their skills in playing the15 ton instrument (Bell) in the tower of the Peter and Paul Fortress.
